Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed he personally called Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku to solicit his support when the Porcupine Warriors were playing in the CAF Champions League next season.
The young and dynamic football administrator has been reacting to issues in Kotoko and the Ghana Football Association on Asempa FM.
Amponsah, a 2019 Ghana FA Presidential candidate, was banned 5 years by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA but the decision was overturned by the Appeals Committee on Wednesday.
A section of the Ghanaian sporting public view the ban as a personal score the GFA President wanted to settle against the Kotoko CEO.
But, during the interview Amponsah revealed that he has no problems with Kurt Okraku and went further to state that he called him for support during Kotoko’s participation in CAF Interclub competitions.
“I’ve no problems with Kurt Okraku. Post elections we have all moved on. I remember when we were playing in Africa I called him on phone to solicit for his support as the GFA President because our gain is his gain as it would go in favour of the GFA. But, he failed to get back to me,” he told Ekosii Sen host Philip Osei Bonsu.
Amponsah also made a number of revelations on the programme touching on his relationship with Kotoko board chairman Dr Kwame Kyei.
