Hearts of Oak stepped up their preparations for the CAF Champions League preliminary first-leg tie with Guinean side CI Kamsar by beating lower-tier side Adabraka Elders 3-0 on Wednesday.
Samuel Boadu’s side negotiated for the victory without the services of three key players – Richard Attah, Fatawu Mohammed and attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh who are currently training with the Black Stars squad in Cape Coast ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia on Friday.
Attacker Isaac Mensah scored a brace for the Phobians before defender Larry Sumaila added the third goal for the Phobians.
The Division Two side gave Hearts of Oak’s technical team the opposition they wanted but they were undone by the resilience of the Phobians who travel to Guinean in 9 days time for the opening games of the campaign.
The clash which is slated for the for Nongo-Stade General Lansana Conte on September 12.
Malian center referee Sory Ibrahima Keita Sory has been appointed as the center referee, assistant 1 is Drissa Kamory Niare with Amadou Belly Guisse Amadou as the assistant 2 both from Mali.
Harouna Coulibaly, another Malian, will be the fourth official for the game.
