Italian football manager Dario Bonetti has expressed interest in the vacant Ghana coaching post.
Ghana FA on Monday unveiled a 3-man search party to find a replacement for Charles Akonnor who was fired from his role as head of the Black Stars together with two of his assistants David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars following a marathon meeting held at the headquarters of the football association on Monday afternoon.
Over 50 foreign coaches have applied for the job within 48 hours of the announcement and the former Dinamo București manager has told Accra-based GTV Sports+ he is interested in taking over the reins as new head coach of the West African powerhouse.
“Italian Dario Bonetti has expressed an interest in the vacant Black Stars job. He made this known when he spoke with Gloria Peprah on Studio 5 live on GTV Sports+. He said Ghana has quality players and believes with his appointment the country can easily qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The former Dinamo Bucureşti coach says he is the best fit for the Black Stars coaching position after the exit of CK Akonnor,” he is paraphrased by GTV Sports+.
The former Juventus defender won the Romanian Cup and the Romanian Super Cup for Dinamo București.
