Don’t sign more than 2 players – Former Hearts midfielder Eric Nyarko

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Eric Nyarko has advised the Phobians to desist from bulk signings after winning a Ghanaian double.

The 36-year-old was at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday to witness the MTN FA Cup final between his former club and AshantiGold, a game the Phobians won 8-7 in a marathon penalty shoot out.

Hearts have been linked with a number of signings with the former African champions completing the acquisition with Isaac Agyenim Boateng as a free agent.

Four announcements are expected in the coming days with Kofi Kordzi, Enock Asubonteng, Konadu Yiadom and Gladson Awako likely to be announced soon.

But, Nyarko disagrees and has suggested the Phobians limit their number of signings to just two as he sees a well functioning side.

“If you look at this team very well. They are playing very well as a unit and doesn’t rely on individual players to excel. They will have to make just a few augmentation and I don’t expect them to sign more than two players,” he told reporters at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts won an historic double on Sunday after beating AshantiGold to annex the MTN FA Cup title.

Nyarko starred in 14 matches for Hearts on their match to win the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup.
