Legendary Asante Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe has downplayed the possibility of a striker on the current Ghanaian local scene reaching the level he achieved with during his playing career.
The 34-year-old had to cut short his playing career due to injuries and he has now ventured into coaching, managing third-tier side Nsawkawman Football Club.
During an interview with Sunyani-based Sun City Radio the forward, who scored 65 goals in 80 appearances for Egyptian side Petrojet, is unsure whether a striker on the current local terrain can rise to his level.
“It will be difficult to say because you have to ask yourself how many of them even have the knack and have that ambition,” he said.
Bekoe netted 134 goals in 169 career appearances for four different clubs.
He scored 4 times in 12 appearances for Ghana at the senior level.
